The first day of school

All the students arrive for their morning classes. Saya sits down on a planter and waits for her friends to show up as she watches the other kids walk into the school courtyard.

Jake walks into the courtyard. He liked getting there early, then he didn't have to deal with the sudden explosion of sounds.. he sniffed the air then sneezed. and the smells. School always smelt strange. the odd mix of kids, bad food and other smells.
He rolled his shoulders, letting his backpack rest on his shoulder. He sniffed again, trying to see who was all here. He wrinkled his nose as he smelt a vampire. He couldn't quite tell wither it was old or not....

Walking in shortly after Jake I quickly cover my nose beign unable to bare all the smells. I take a deep breath than uncover my nose and instantly burrying it in a book so I could focus more on the smell of the pages.

Saya's friends showed up and the four of them walked into the courtyard. They were laughing as they walked. Just then Saya stopped and told her friends to continue walking. Her senses told her a wolf was near. Thinking it was nothing she kept walking to the courtyard. They reached there and she sat down at a table and pulled out a bottle of water being cautious of her surroundings

Chancing one more sniff before he gave up trying to locate the vampire smell, he smelt another wolf. the smell was faint but definitely there.
Jake looked around to see where the smell was coming from.

I nearly walk into Jake but quickly manover around him and avoid any cntact at all. I give a small nod that says 'sorry for almost running into you' and continue to walk off.

Jake stares at her for a moment and as she passes him he gives a small sniff....
she smells human...but like a wolf too.... he observed.
He decided to sit down.

The bell rings and it is time to head ot homeroom. Saya said goodbye to her friends as they were going to different classes.

Jake looks up in alarm.
Of course as soon as I sit down He quickly jumps up and tosses his backpack over his shoulder. He rushes to get to class, running clean into Saya. "Sorry..." Vampire- so that's the smell!

As Jake ran into her, Saya immediatly sensed her was a wolf. Wolf, so you are who i sensed earlier. "Sorry for being in your way." She turns to look at him. "We haven't met. Name's Saya." Just act normal

Just stay cool, Jake. "No, It was my fault. I wasn't looking where i was going." He offered his hand,(somewhat reluctantly) "I'm Jake."

She accepts his hand. "Nice to meet to you." Just stay calm. Don't do anything to provoke him or the vampire in you.

Ignoreing them both Ama walked right inbewtween the twwo after they had shook hands. The scent of vampire and werewolf seeped into her nose through the pages of the book.

Jake gives a shaky nod, avoiding the half-blood walking between them, thankful for the inturuption. He had never been good with girls or vampires, now he had to deal with both.
"Yah... um, well we better head to class.. where are you going?"
with any luck we'll be heading in opposite directions.

"I am heading to class 2-b. What about you?" I hope we are not going to the same place.

Damn...
Despite his lack of enthusiasm he forced a smile.
"Umm... well, that's where I'm heading..."
Note to self: ask for a change in homerooms

Damn, it's bad enough that i ran into him. Now i have homeroom with him. This great.
"That's cool..."
Saya was trying to stay calm

"Yah...just great..." An awkward silence prevailed.
"So....we should probably get going...."

"Yeah. Before the tardy bell rings."
Saya walks off towards the room which was a few doors away. She sat down in a desk towards the front of the class

Jake slips into the seat in the back corner, near the far wall.

It was a minute till the tardy bell and the rest of the students arrived. Saya didn't like the fact that she ran into a wolf and now she has his scent on her.

Ama was sitting directly in front of Jake her nose still in the book. Knowing the bell was about to ring she forced herself to put the book down and endure the smells of the class

Yech, now i smell like a vamp...I cant stand to smell myself!
Jake frowned as he sniffed himself. He started to discreetly chew on the end of his pencil.

The bell rings and the teacher walks in. The first thing she does is call role then she wants the students to introduce themselves. Several students when then Saya decided to go next. She stood up and faced the class.
"Hi my name is Saya Otinashi. I am really hope we can all be friends and work together as a class.." She sat back down. The teacher then asks who will go next.

when no one volunteered, she called Jake's name.
This day is just getting better...
"Umm...I'm Jake Arin, and....umm... I like to work with my hands..." He quickly sat back down.
I sounded so stupid...
